What do you get when you cross studied musicians, love of the groove, semi-nonsensical lyrics, and a unique visual aesthetic?
It’s no secret that I’m gushy for this band (like Winnie and honey). Their music is what you wish a jam band sounded like: crystalized musicianship and songwriting without indulgent soloing.
Music isn’t the only reason I love this band. The spirit, that je ne sais quoi permeates into everything they do. Their videos have a cohesive art style, beginning jingle, almost always live sessions from recording the song. They have their own font, their own compression plug-in. It’s like they are making fun of our society’s current obsession with branding, but doing it better than any experts.
